My 4th of July Traditions

Though I am always open to change, for a number of years now these have pretty much been my 4th of July traditions:

1. Read the Declaration of Independence (read here). To this I usually add the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and all the Amendments (read here).

2. Watch the 1938 short film The Declaration of Independence (see here). Quick, concise and patriotic.

3. Watch a movie or documentary dealing with the Revolutionary War.

4. Go see fireworks at a beach north of Boston, where you can also see between 60-80 different firework shows (this is a secret location I discovered which I shall not publicly disclose). All the while playing patriotic music.

5. Go to Revere Beach, the first public beach in North America, for Kelly's Roast Beef, the inventors of the roast beef sandwich, and some ice cream.

6. Watch one of the Jaws sequels. I never watch the first Jaws, as I usually see it every year at some point in the movie theater.

This is a typical 4th of July for me.
